Spiced Pears


2 pounds pears (4 large or 8 small)
1 t. cinnamon
1 t. cloves
4 T. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. brandy, the cheap stuff

It's best if the pears are a bit firm. Not really ripe, you might say. Peel, core, and quarter the pears. Toss with cinnamon, cloves, and brown sugar. Distribute butter in little clumps. Pour in the brandy. Bake for 30-40 minutes in 400 degree oven. Serve alone, or with ice cream. Either way, they're heavenly.
